Bugged & Beautiful: Build a Bioactive Terrarium with Springtails & Isopods

  • The Park Coffee & Bread Co. 4012 Main Street Erie, PA, 16511 United States (map)

Get ready to dive into the tiny, fascinating world of bioactive terrariums—where plants thrive, moss carpets the earth, and tiny critters work behind the scenes to keep everything beautifully balanced.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll build your own self-sustaining terrarium from the ground up. You'll learn how to layer soil, add hardscape features, plant the perfect greenery and introduce a living cleanup crew of white springtails and dwarf white isopods—nature’s tiniest recyclers! You’ll leave with a botanical beauty of your very own, as well as care instructions for all aspects of your new creation. Don’t worry, minimal care is needed!

What’s included:

  • All terrarium materials (glass vessel, substrate layers, live moss, your choice of three plants, microfauna, décor)

  • Step-by-step guidance from Steph

  • A take-home care guide

  • Plenty of time to ask questions, get creative, and connect with other plant-loving folks
